Over time, the castle fell into disrepair, but its two imposing towers still stand over its terraces and walkways, offering a commanding view of the surrounding landscape. Nowadays, it\u2019s a popular spot for tourists, not only for its historical significance but also for the stunning views and the delicious Albanian cuisine\u2014featuring meat and vegetables\u2014offered by the restaurant within the castle.<\/p>\n<p>Located in southern Albania near the border with Greece, close to the city of Saranda, this region has a rich history. Saranda was renamed Porto Edda during Italian rule (1939-1944) in honor of Mussolini&#8217;s daughter, Edda Ciano Mussolini. Today, Saranda has grown into a bustling tourist center that is gaining recognition beyond Albania\u2019s borders.<\/p>\n<p>From Saranda, you can reach Corfu in just half an hour by ferry.
