Coney Island
Coney Island is a classic destination where you and your date can indulge your inner child, have fun, and laugh together. Start by trying to win a prize at Luna Park’s carnival area, experience the thrill of the 87-year-old Cyclone rollercoaster, and grab a bite at Nathan’s Famous for some of the best hot dogs in New York. You could even join their hot dog eating contest. After that, head to the Coney Island Brewing Company for a beer. If you still have energy, check out Sideshows by the Seashore for burlesque and freak shows.
Queens Archery Range
For some target practice, head to Queens Archery Range in Flushing for an hour-long archery lesson. You’ll be provided with all the necessary equipment, including a bow, arrows, and an arm patch to protect from the bowstring. It’s a fun challenge to see how close you can get to the bullseye.
For Something Different
If you’re up for something unusual, try the Sleep No More show based on Macbeth. It’s a surreal experience where you wear a mask and wander through rooms and corridors while watching some grisly, slightly gruesome scenes unfold. It’s a voyeur’s dream and offers a different type of date night.
Dinner Dates
Going out to dinner is always popular because it gives couples a chance to talk and learn more about each other. Visit New York’s Chinatown and check out Nom Wah Tea Parlor. Opened in 1920, this eatery was the city’s first dim sum house. Despite a recent renovation, it retains its original Art Deco furniture, providing a cozy atmosphere under posters of Chinese movie stars.
Winnie’s
If you think you can sing well enough to impress your date, take them to Winnie’s, often considered a Chinatown dive. Enjoy some drinks to warm up your vocal cords, then take turns singing classic love songs.
