Are you curious about what you can see in Puglia? We’ve talked about exhibitions, unique places, historic centers that are must-sees, and even some great restaurants and pizzerias. But now, let’s talk about something truly unique—what is now a museum, and a very original one at that.
In Noci (BA), a new museum recently opened in early May, dedicated to agricultural culture. This isn’t just about the usual hoes and plows that were powered by hand or animals; this museum boasts an incredible collection of antique tractors.
One of the standout pieces on display is a “Hothead” from the early 1900s, a rare model produced by Landini. Thanks to some extensive renovation work done before the museum’s opening, this tractor is still operational. But that’s not all—you’ll also find various models from brands like Man, Ferguson, and Fiat. Some of these tractors are even equipped with rubber toothed tracks or were originally drawn by animals. Remarkably, all of them are still in working condition and could theoretically be returned to the fields.
The museum’s website provides detailed descriptions of all the tractors on display. You can also book a visit there, and even arrange for a guide to walk you through the history and functionality of these fascinating machines.
