Experience the Magic of a Hogwarts-Inspired Stay Without Leaving London | Georgian House

It’s been 17 years since JK Rowling introduced us to a young wizard with dark hair, round glasses, and a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. His adventures have captivated both kids and adults, and his magic is still very much alive. Now, if you’ve ever wanted to sleep like a wizard, you can stay at the Georgian House in London, just a short walk from Victoria Station. The owners have transformed some of the rooms to look like they belong in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and they’ve done an impressive job.

When you arrive, the receptionist will greet you with a candle and invite you on a tour of the residence halls, all while familiar tunes from the movies play in the background. Once you step into your room, it feels like stepping into a spellbinding world. There’s a purple canopy over the bed, old spell books and potion bottles on the nightstand, a vintage trunk at the foot of the bed, and an old white-framed mirror on the wall for practicing spells.

Staying in these magical rooms costs about €250 per night for a small room that fits two people, and up to €370 for larger ones. The price includes a “muggle” breakfast where you can enjoy a delicious full English breakfast.

Serena von der Heyde, a partner at The Georgian House, explains that while the rooms are inspired by the Harry Potter films, they wanted to create a truly magical experience. This means adding unique and creative touches, like a painted wand in the hand of a portrait of the Mona Lisa.

To complete the experience, you can also take a tour of the Harry Potter studio, which is located just a few miles from London. This tour isn’t included in the accommodation, but it’s a perfect addition. Von der Heyde mentions that the Harry Potter studio tour is one of the most popular attractions in London, and since the bus to the studio leaves from Victoria Station, the hotel’s location is ideal for tourists visiting the studio.

The Georgian House Hotel emphasizes making families and young visitors feel welcome, aiming to give them an unforgettable experience. Despite being 163 years old, the hotel has successfully reinvented itself. Von der Heyde notes that many young couples are drawn to the hotel, likely because of the nostalgic connection they have with the Harry Potter series from their childhood.
