Nestled in the Swiss mountains, the hotel at Therme Vals is both an architectural masterpiece and an amazing spa. It’s luxurious but surprisingly affordable. A stay in a double room outside the main spa building costs only 63 euros per person, making it a great deal for a spa experience. Though occasionally, you might need to book a minimum of two nights.
Hotel guests have exclusive access to the pool from 7 am to 11 am, and there are a few evenings each week when night swimming is available. If you’re not staying at the hotel, entry to the spa is 40 Swiss francs. Designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, the spa building is constructed entirely from local stone sourced from a nearby quarry. It’s a popular destination for architects, artists, and intellectuals who find it both relaxing and inspiring.
